BURY Town moved up to sixth in the Ryman League Premier Division on Saturday after John Sands scored a dramatic 93rd-minute winner in their 2-1 victory over second-placed AFC Hornchurch.
Sam Reed had given the Blues the lead, but 10-man AFC looked as if they would earn a share of the spoils when Jonathan Hunt coolly dispatched a controversially-awarded penalty.
Lee McGlone’s first goal for Needham Market made sure Danny laws’ men left Soham Town Rangers with a point in Ryman One North, while there were wins in the Ridgeons League for Walsham-le-Willows and Stowmarket Town.
Meanwhile, in rugby’s London One North, Bury produced an outstanding first-half display to blow away Letchworth Garden City.
