Needham Market’s perfect start to the season came to an end as they lost 2-1 at home to Brentwood.

Alex Akrofi put the visitors in front after 10 minutes, before Luke Hammond equalised for the Marketmen just before half-time.

But Sam Bantick’s 76th-minute strike for Brentwood ended Mark Morsley’s side’s 100 per cent record this season to see them slip to second in Ryman League Division One North.

In the Thurlow Nunn League Premier Division, Thetford Town got back to winning ways with a 3-0 victory over Godmanchester Rovers at Mundford Road, while Walsham-le-Willows suffered their fourth straight defeat in all competitions with a 3-1 loss at Kirkley and Pakefield.

Stowmarket Town moved up to third in the First Division after a 3-3 draw at home to Leiston Reserves, and Team Bury ended a four match losing run with a 1-0 victory against AFC Sudbury Reserves at Ram Meadow.
