Thurston hit the goal trail in comprehensive victory

In our match of the week, Thurston Under-16s hit the goal trail to clinch an 8-0 rout over Stradbroke Under-16s.

Hugo Grayling proved Stradbroke’s main tormentor as he helped himself to a four-goal haul, with further goals coming from, Ben Frost, Jack Owen, Sam Shepherd and Jack Horn to wrap up proceedings.

Thetford Town Under-16s secured their place in the John Savage County Cup semi-final with a hard-fought 1-0 win over Downham.

Thetford Bulldogs Belles Under-14s were forced to settle for a share of the spoils in their top-of-the-table clash with Sprowston following a 3-3 draw.

In a match in which the Belles dominated for prolonged periods, goals came courtesy of Eva Bell, Aimee Frost and Hannah Rogers to put them in control.

However, they were denied victory as a late fight-back saw Sprowston snatch a draw.

One team who did enjoy that winning feeling was Thurston Under-12s who eased their way to a 3-0 success over Bury Bulldogs in the Ipswich and Suffolk Youth League Division Two.

In a dominant performance, Charlie Myhill opened the scoring, with two further goals coming from Archie Norman. There was also strong performances from Tommy Flack, Fraser Sadler, Alfie Gamble and William Chalkley.

Brandon Under-7s took part in a Suffolk FA 4v4 event at Ipswich Town’s Portman Road. Facing Feltwell the sides played a thrilling match which ended in a 5-5 draw. The match went to penalties in which Feltwell won 4-3.
