The road to Wembley begins for Mildenhall Town, Thetford Town and Walsham-le-Willows tomorrow when they are among 736 clubs in the extra preliminary round of the Emirates FA Cup all dreaming of a lucrative run.

Mildenhall manager Dean Greygoose will be looking to get one over on his former employers on his first return to Haverhill Rovers’ New Croft (3pm) after his side bounced back from Saturday’s 2-1 defeat at Ipswich Wanderers with a 4-0 home win over Fakenham Town on Tuesday. Luke Parkinson hit a brace at Recreation Way with the other goals coming from Gareth Simpson and Kelvin Enaro.

Thetford also travel to fellow Thurlow Nunn League Premier Division opposition, in Swaffham (3pm), hoping to quickly put Wednesday’s 8-0 defeat at last season’s runners-up, Godmanchester Rovers, behind themg. It followed on from a narrow 1-0 opening day defeat at Whitton United on Saturday.

Walsham-le-Willows host divisional rivals Godmanchester as they bid for the £1,500 prize money to the winners at Summer Road (3pm) following two draws from their opening league games. Nathan Clarke’s 79th minute lob earned them a 1-1 at Hadleigh on Saturday before they drew 2-2 at Ipswich Wanderers on Wednesday, with Joji Kawaguchi having been signed from Team Bury during the week.

In the Thurlow Nunn League First Division, managerless Team Bury had a mixed opening week, with Saturday’s 6-0 defeat at King’s Lynn Town Reserves followed by a 6-3 win at home to Needham Market Reserves on Tuesday.

Needham Market Reserves host AFC Sudbury Reserves tonight (7.45pm), while Team Bury host Downham Town tomorrow (3pm).
