Bury Town 0
Bury Town failed to score for the third successive home game as they went down to a strong Wealdstone side in a tight encounter on Saturday.
Bury went close early on when Joe Whight’s free-kick found the head of Richard Logan, but was blocked on the line by keeper Jonathan North.
Wealdstone returned swiftly to the attack and took the lead on 10 minutes.
Tom Pett got clear in the box and although Marcus Garnham blocked his first effort he regained possession and fired home.
Bury tried to get back into the game, but were unable to make any impression on the visitors’ defence despite some neat approach play and an even share of the possession.
Wealdsone continued to look the more dangerous with their attacks down the flanks and the constant probing of man-of-the-match Glen Little and the goal threat of Scott McGleish.
Bury were unlucky not to be awarded a penalty on 54 minutes when John Sands appeared to be pushed in the back as he ran in on goal.
At the other end, Stefan Bailey fired just wide of an empty net after Garnham had lost possession when attempting a clearance
The game then began to open up and Logan missed Bury’s best chance when heading wide from Russell Short’s cross.
For Wealdstone, Chris Moore hit the post from close range and a volley from McGleish was palmed away by Garnham.
