LEE Smith has left Bury Town after signing for Ryman League Premier Division rivals Lowestoft Town.

The 24-year-old right sided player has agreed terms with the Trawlerboys and put pen to paper on a two year contract at the Crown Meadow.

Meanwhile, Suffolk Cricket Club have crashed out of the MCCA Knockout Trophy following a quarter-final seven wicket defeat away to Staffordshire on Sunday.

The hosts won the toss and put Suffolk into bat, which appeared a wise choice after the visitors reached a total of just 121.

This was surpassed in just 26.3 overs as Staffordshire progressed through to the semi-finals.

It was also a disappointing weekend for Bury who still remain winless in the East Anglian Premier League following a seven wicket defeat away to Horsford.

The visitors won the toss and decided to bat, setting a target of 123.

And the hosts had no problem reaching that, taking just 26.5 overs, with the loss of three wickets to claim victory.
