Seb Dunbar has become the first player to commit his future to Bury Town under caretaker manager Ben Chenery.
The left-back has signed a new contract to cover the 2014/15 season, with Chenery saying there will be more announcements about playing staff for next season over the next seven days.
Chenery told the Ryman League Premier Division club’s website: “Seb’s signing is a big one for us as he was arguably one of the most consistent performers at a high level last season.
“Once I explained to him about the club’s determination to move forward from the dark days of last season, he had no hesitancy in signing.
“He will be the first of several signings over the next week and I am confident that I can provide the club with the players to take it forward.”
It comes a day after it was announced club captain Tom Bullard had made a switch to Lieston after a 10-year spell at Ram Meadow.
