Mildenhall Town played out a six-goal thriller with Kirkley and Pakefield in the Thurlow Nunn League Premier Division on Saturday, with three of the six goals coming in the dying minutes of the match.
Hall — who travel to Norwich United tomorrow (3pm) — went close through James Paterson (twice), Allicion Blake and Aaron Turner in the early stages, but the visitors struck back to go 2-0 up.
Kirkley also hit the crossbar, but Alex Steed latched on to Ben Coe’s cross before firing his side back into the tie.
Hall levelled in the 88th minute when Jack Minns slotted home after running on to Paterson’s pass and Christian Appleford’s charges thought they had won it when Blake stooped to head in from three yards,
However, Kirkley levelled to end the match at 3-3.
n Thetford Town — who host Newmarket Town tomorrow (3pm) — also played out a high-scoring draw in the Thurlow Nunn Premier on Saturday, with Matt Dixon’s hat-trick and a strike by Shane Leech earning them a 4-4 draw with fellow strugglers FC Clacton.
Manager Mark Scott felt the Brecklanders were denied a ‘stonewall’ penalty in the closing stages.
n In the Thurlow Nunn First Division, Stowmarket Town host Braintree Town Reserves (tomorrow) after Friday night’s match at Needham Market Reserves was postponed, while Team Bury drew 2-2 at Dereham Town Reserves on Saturday, but do not play again until January 4.
n In Ryman One North, Needham Market’s match at Romford was postponed and they were due to face AFC Sudbury at Bloomfields yesterday.
The Marketmen’s next assignment is at Wroxham on New Year’s Day (3pm).
