It has been a case of one in and one out at Needham Market this week as Mark Morsley attempts to assemble a squad capable of challenging for promotion.
The manager confirmed today (Friday) that former Football League striker Richard Logan has departed Bloomfields, having only signed earlier this season from Mildenhall Town, while Dave Cowley has arrived from neighbours and Ryman League Division One North promotion rivals AFC Sudbury.
The New recruit could be set for his debut tomorrow as Needham travel to table toppers VCD Athletic, in what would be the club’s first match in five attempts following a host of postponements.
“It possibly has not worked out for Loges (Logan) with us this season,” explained Morsley speaking to the club’s website.
“He has been effective in a deep midfield role but that is an area that we are strong and we have gone in another direction with our front options.
“I also had to address the balance of the squad with Ryan Melaugh going back to Colchester United.
“I have to say he is a great lad and I wish him well going forward.”
And speaking of his latest addition Morsley added:
“I have tried to sign Dave a couple of times this season.
“He is a technically good player who can play in the offensive left side of my team as well as a number of other offensive positions. “Dave was also very keen to join us and in fact has funded the transfer costs himself.
“I think that shows the sort of player I am getting.”
