Bury Town boss Ben Chenery believes Craig Nurse’s affection for the club can inspire them to Ryman League Premier Division safety.
The midfielder rejoined the Blues from Mildenhall Town this week, two-and-a-half years after initially leaving for Needham Market.
He will go straight into the squad for Bury’s trip to promotion-chasing Margate tomorrow (3pm).
“He’ll bring commitment, he’s vocal and knows how to play the game,” said Chenery. “He has to work on his match fitness, but he is really excited about getting us away from the bottom.”
The Blues have also ex-tended the loan deal of goalkeeper Alex Archer until the end of the season from AFC Sudbury.
Chenery is without suspended duo John Sands and John Kennedy for Bury’s trip to the Kent coast tomorrow and that could pave the way for Tevan Allen and Chris Benjamin to return to the team.
Winger Jordan Patrick and front man Joe Benjamin (foot) are carrying knocks, but expected to be passed fit.
One player not travelling with the squad to Margate though will be young midfielder Ross Bailey, who has moved to Dereham Town after raising concerns over his lack of playing time at Bury.
Bailey said: “It’s really hard to leave, but I’ve got to think about my football, get some minutes and kick on.”
Needham Market will be hoping for a favour from Suffolk rivals AFC Sudbury tomorrow that could send them back to the top of Ryman One North.
Leaders Harlow Town travel to in-form AFC and anything other than a win for the table-topping Hawks would see the Marketmen leapfrog them with victory at home to Romford (3pm).
Luke Ingram’s equaliser earned Needham a 1-1 draw at Maldon and Tiptree on Saturday before Tuesday’s scheduled trip to Tilbury was postponed.
Andrew Wood bagged a brace and Jack Brame the other as Walsham-le-Willows edged past AFC Sudbury Reserves into the semi-finals of the Red Insure Thurlow Nunn League Cup on Wednesday.
The Willows, who travel to struggling rivals Diss Town in the Thurlow Nunn Premier tomorrow (3pm), lost 3-0 in a league encounter to Mildenhall Town on Saturday.
Richard Logan (two) and Matty Waters got the goals for mid-table Hall, who visit high-flying Kirkley and Pakefield tomorrow (3pm).
Thetford Town travel to Newmarket Town tomorrow (3pm) on the back of their 5-2 defeat at home to Stanway Rovers on Saturday.
None of our sides featured in the First Division on Saturday, but Stowmarket Town host Downham Town, Needham Market Reserves visit Swaffham Town and Team Bury take on Cornard United at Ram Meadow, all tomorrow (3pm).
Team Bury follow that up with a trip to Saffron Walden Town on Tuesday (7.45pm).
