Needham Market got 2014 off to a flying start with a 5-2 triumph at struggling Wroxham in Ryman One North on New Year’s Day.

Ian Westlake set up the Marketmen’s first two goals for on-loan Colchester United winger Ryan Melaugh - with an equaliser from Wroxham’s Sam Harty sandwiched between.

Former Ipswich Town and Leeds United man Westlake then netted twice himself to put Needham in charge.

Harty got enough back before substitute Adam Mills headed in the visitors’ fifth to sink the Yachtsmen at a wet and windy Trafford Park.

Bury Town’s match with Leiston was postponed because of a waterlogged pitch.
