Needham’s dreams of promotion dashed following play-off final defeat

NEEDHAM Market’s dreams of clinching promotion to the Ryman League Premier Division were dashed yesterday following a narrow 1-0 play-off final defeat away to Enfield Town.

In a match largely dominated by the hosts, the decisive moment came after just 17 minutes as the lively Adam Wallace skipped past Ollie Fenn on the left hand side before delivering a wickedly whipped in cross for Wallid Matata to head home from six yards sealing Town’s promotion to the Ryman League Premier Division.
