Money-spinning tie was postponed

Bury Town are hopeful tomorrow’s Ryman League Premier Division clash at home to Hendon (3pm)gets the go ahead after Boxing Day’s potential money-spinner against Lowestoft Town fell victim to Christmas’ wet weather.

The Blues, who are also due to travel to Enfield Town on New Year’s Day (3pm), missed out on an expected of crowd of almost 1,500 for their grudge match with fellow promotion chasers Lowestoft.

Bury chairman Russell Ward said volunteers had been working on the Ram Meadow pitch since 7.30am on Boxing Day morning, but were not able to get it ready for the 1pm kick-off due to the large amount of rain that fell over the festive period.

Although frustrated with the postponement, Ward conceded the referee made the right call.
