Teenage midfielder Leon Bailey has switched from Haverhill Rovres to Thurlow Nunn League Premier Division rivals Mildenhall Town.

The 18-year-old’s move was confirmed yesterday (Thursday), and he is the fourth player to leave Rovers after the sacking of manager Michael Shinn. Ty Alleyne, Scott Kemp and Tyler Kemp have also left.

Bailey has made three first team appearances this season for Rovers, two of them starts, but is yet to register a goal for them.

Having progressed through Rovers youth system he was loaned last season to Haverhill Borough, where he made 14 appearances, ten of those from the bench.

He began this season at Borough, making six appearances, four of them starts, and scored his first and to date only senior Thurlow Nunn League goal in their 3-2 defeat to Wivenhoe Town.

Injury problems restricted his appearances after the opening few weeks of the season, but once fit again he moved back to Rovers until making the switch to The Hall this week.
