Jefferies jumping for joy after a gr-eight display

Sophie Jefferies bagged eight goals when Lawshall and Cockfield Girls Under-15s netted 15 in their demolition of Framlingham Town in our match of the week.

Ele Catchpole and Emily Morter both scored two, Emily Fisher struck from the penalty spot and Suleika Horrocks scored her first for the club.

Meanwhile, Walsham-le-Willows Under-15s were well beaten by Brandon, despite Dominic Freeman cancelling out Brandon’s opener.

Eight goals were scored in a thrilling game between Lakenheath and Milton, with Kieron Danbrowsky hitting a hat-trick and Callum Thorogood the other from the penalty spot in their 4-4 draw. Man of the match was Connor Knight.

Bury Town Under-13s scored a fantastic 8-1 victory on the road at Rushmere Lions.

Tom Manning latched on to a Joe Stanton goal-kick and burst past two defenders before firing home to open the scoring.

Chris Cogan benefitted from good work between Manning and Ethan Radford to double Bury’s lead before Manning scored his second after being put through by Brett Spearman.

Manning completed his hat-trick, George Sanders added a fifth and Spearman netted a quick-fire double.

Paxton grabbed the eighth, but it was the Lions who completed the scoring with a late consolation.

Moreton Hall Black Under-13s won 6-2 at Stowmarket Town Hornets, with Harrison Milner opening the scoring and Tom Gardiner’s sublime pass invited Will Stobbart to fire home shortly before half-time.

Stobbart, Jack Garn, Aiden Sturgeon and Kurtis Lebbon completed Hall’s scoring in the second period, while the Hornets’ Ben Benedetti Titchener claimed a well-taken second-half double.

Bury Town Girls Under-11s took time to find their rhythm, but a strike from Jess Daniel found the top corner and broke the deadlock.

Ellie Costin added to the scoreline a couple of minutes later, also from distance, with six second-half goals coming courtesy of two more for Daniel, a debut strike from Ellie Allen and a brace for Grace Clancy as Bury saw off Felixstowe 8-2.

Risby A Under-9s’ Patrick Fisher Butler scored an equaliser in their 1-1 draw with Sebert Wood Bulldogs.

A certain Sebert Wood goal was cleared off the line by Alfie Burrows, who put in yet another man-of-the-match showing.

Luke Gannaway had a fine strike hit the post and the follow-up shot from Fisher Butler was again superbly saved.

Risby B Under-8s lost 3-0 to Sebert Wood Bulldogs in a friendly encounter.

Theo Fisher Butler had a fine first-half performance, and there were some great saves by Risby’s new goalkeeper Toby Turner. Risby’s best chance fell to Ben Palmer, who had a great shot pushed on to the post.
