Mildenhall Town manager Christian Appleford is aiming to iron out his side’s inconsistencies ahead of tomorrow’s clash with Kirkley and Pakefield in the Thurlow Nunn League Premier Division (3pm).
An up-and-down campaign has seen 12th-placed Hall win as many as they have lost in the league, but they would go level on points with their eighth-placed visitors with victory at Recreation Way.
Hall — whose Red Insure Thurlow Nunn League Cup clash at Godmanchester Rovers, due to be played on Wednesday, was postponed— went down 4-0 to high-flying Felixstowe and Walton United on Saturday in a game Appleford believes they could have won 5-4.
“When we lost 4-0 to Norwich United recently, they battered us and were worthy of the win,” he said. “We got everything we deserved that day.
“On Saturday against Felixstowe, we lost by the same score, but we had 16 shots on target and had other opportunities as well.
“I can’t moan about how we are playing because if we create that many chances in our next game I will be happy.”
Defenders Dave Cooper (suspended) and Adarian Judge (work commitments) should be back in contention tomorrow, while Michael Harvey (knee) will be assessed ahead of the game.
Aaron Turner (ankle) and Carl Murkin (ankle/back) remain long-term absentees, while Dan Hitching — who has re-signed for the club — is not expected to be in contention again until the end of the month.
