Bury Town have snapped up Craig Parker on a loan deal to bolster their squad ahead of Saturday’s return to Ryman League action against Harrow Borough.

The midfielder spent the early part of his craeer at Ram Meadow before moving on to Needham Market, where he had great success, scoring 42 goals for the Marketmen in the 2010/11 season.

He enjoyed some success at Chelmsford, helping them to the second round of the FA Cup last season before bowing out in a replay to Macclesfield Town, a match shown live on Sky Sports.

Despite Parker — who will be cup-tied for the FA Cup clash at Dorchester Town on October 20 — appearing in all 12 of City’s fixtures so far this season, the Essex outfit appear to be happy to let the player leave.

Full story in Friday’s new-look Free Press, as well as the chance to get into Saturday’s match with Harrow Borough for half price with a Football League season ticket and a coupon in the paper.
