CHARITABLE DONATION: Pictured from left are Bill Tinkler (Glasswells St Edmundsbury League), Karen Roberts (Clic Sargent), Adrian Lewis (Frames Conservatories Direct) and Stewart Chapman (Frames Conservatories Direct Bury Sunday League).
KAREN Roberts, of Clic Sargent, received a cheque for £1,000, raised following the Glasswells Bury Saturday League versus Frames Conservatories Direct Bury Sunday League annual inter-league game for the Frames Conservatories Direct Community Shield.
All clubs from both leagues made a donation, and gate receipts and a raffle plus donations from both leagues raised a total of £1,000 for the charity, chosen this year by Frames Conservatories Direct owner Adrian Lewis.
The event was supported by Bury Town, who provided their pitch and facilities free of charge for the day and also made sure the players and officials received adequate hospitality after the game.
Match officials George Byrne, John Dumican and Shane Price gave their time free of charge, and all parties are most grateful.
