Thetford Town manager Mark Scott has revealed that talented youngster Ben Anderson is on trial at Norwich City.
Following Thetford’s 1-0 win over the Sky Bet Championship club’s under-21 side in the Norfolk Senior Cup last week, the 19-year-old’s man-of-the-match performance impressed the onlooking scouts
“Ben is currently being looked at by Norwich City,” said Scott. “He’s been training with them after that game against their under-21s last week.”
Thetford (16th) are currently two places and five points above the Thurlow Nunn League Premier Division relegation zone ahead of their trip to Mildenhall Town (14th) tomorrow (3pm).
And Scott is confident his side can continue to build on the recent upturn in results and move clear of danger.
“It’s going to be a tricky one,” said the Thetford boss, who will be without Bruno Tavares and Aaron Joseph for the trip to Recreation Way. “Mildenhall have got some quality players, but we go there confident that we can get something out of the game.”
Ryan Pearson and Oliver Standley netted for Scott’s side in a 2-2 draw at Felixstowe and Walton United on Saturday.
n Elsewhere in the Premier Division, Walsham-le-Willows (15th) look to stretch their unbeaten run, when they host Godmanchester Rovers (second) tomorrow (3pm).
Paul Smith’s side thrashed Ely City 5-0 at Summer Road at the weekend, with an Andrew Wood hat-trick helping them go four games unbeaten.
