Bury and Needham have to settle for a share of the spoils

BURY TOWN had to settle for a share of the spoils on Saturday after being held to a 2-2 draw by Harrow Borough at Ram Meadow in their Ryman League Premier Division encounter.

Second half strikes from Sam Nunn and Lee Smith cancelled out the visitor’s 38th minute opener but the Blues could not hold on for maximum points as Harrow Borough struck an equaliser with just six minutes remaining.

Richard Wilkins’ men will now be aiming to book their place in the Alan Boon Cup final tomorrow night when they host Lowestoft Town at Ram Meadow (7.45pm).

Like Bury, Needham Market had to settle for just a point on Saturday in Ryman League Division One North after a 1-1 draw away to Tilbury.

Emiel Aitken gave the hosts the lead after 12 minutes before Bradley Barber responded after 61 minutes to claim a point for the Marketmen which leaves them third in the league, eleven points off of leaders Leiston.

In the rugby, Bury continued their recent impressive form, claiming their third consecutive win in London One North after a narrow 10-5 victory away to Eton Manor.
