Bury Town and Needham Market both tasted success last night with victories that maintained their recent good runs of form.
For the Blues, a Billy Clark double inspired Richard Wilkins’ men to a 2-1 win over Grays Athletic at Ram Meadow, to see the side go 10 unbeaten in all competitions since tightening their belts.
The match also saw the hosts Tom Bullard and the visitors Jeff Hammond reduced to 10 men in the opening 45 minutes, with two straight red cards in separate incidents.
Elsewhere, Needham Market strengthened their hopes of securing a play-off spot in the Ryman League Division One North table with an important 1-0 at play-off rivals Dereham Town courtesy of Russell Malton.
The result leaves Mark Morsley’s side in eighth place just two points off of the top five.
