AT THE DOUBLE: Sam Reed bagged a brace to help Bury Town secure progression
BURY Town took one step closer to an FA Cup first round appearance after a comprehensive 4-0 victory over league rivals Hampton and Richmond Borough.
A brace from tireless striker Sam Reed was added to by Luke Ingram and an own goal from centre half Billy Jeffreys, as the Ram Meadow outfit secured progression through to the final qualifying round of the world’s most famous domestic cup competition where they could face former Football League sides, Luton Town and Wrexham.
Meanwhile in the rugby, Bury St Edmunds maintained their perfect start to the new London One North campaign with an emphatic 60-3 victory over Ruislip at the Haberden on Saturday.
