Bury slip to another defeat while late show seals points for Needham
Bury Town suffered their second defeat in as many weeks on Saturday, going down 1-0 to Hampton and Richmond at Ram Meadow.
Following the disappointing loss to Concord last week, Richard Wilkins side once again missed out on the points as their floundering form in Ryman League Premier Division continued.
Elsewhere, in Ryman League Division One North an impressive late show saw Needham Market snatch all three points in a 3-0 win away at Harlow Town.
The Marketmen’s youngsters proved the difference with Elliott Crowe’s quick-fire double after 86 minutes being added to by Ryan Charles in stoppage time to wrap up proceedings.
Meanwhile, Walsham-le-Willows relinquished their place at the top of the Thurlow Nunn Premier Division table going down 2-1 to Nrowich United at Summer Road, while fellow title challengers Mildenhall Town also suffered defeat, losing 1-0 to Brantham Athletic, who now lead the way.
In the rugby, Bury St Edmunds’ dominance of London One North continued as Gavin Hogg’s side held off a spirited Letchworth Garden City to clinch a 67-10 success.
The score stood at 15-10 at the interval before Bury seized control to run out comfortable winners.
