IN an eventful Ryman League Premier Division Suffolk derby, Bury Town slumped to a 3-2 defeat at home to Lowestoft.
Sam Reed opened the scoring after just two minutes before Tom Bullard conceded a penalty and was dismissed 22 minutes later for a foul on Chris Henderson. Dean Sinlcair took responsibility and made no mistake to level from the spot.
Despite being reduced to 10 men, Bury took a goal advantage into the break as Sam Nunn struck after 29 minutes.
However, the visitors struck back again six minutes after the interval as defender Sam Gaughran poked home from close range, before Bury were reduced to nine men as Danny Cunningham went in late on Scott Mitchell.
And with the two man advantage, Lowestoft snatched all three points as Lubomir Guentchev struck a dramatic 93rd minute winner.
It was also a disappointing bank holiday Monday for Needham Market, who were beaten comfortably 3-0 away to Ryman League Division One North leaders and rivals Leiston.
After a goalless first half, in which the Marketmen enjoyed the better of the chances, the home side dominated proceedings and opened the scoring after 58 minutes through Gareth Heath.
Leon Ottley-Gooch added a second with seven minutes remaining before Heath grabbed his second and Leiston’s third in injury time to condemn Needham to their second league defeat in as many days.
