Bury Town’s stuttering form in the Ryman League Premier Division table continued on Saturday after a disappointing 3-1 defeat away at Metropolitan Police.

John Sands grabbed the consolation for Richard Wilkins’ men after 84 minutes in a rare moment of joy in an otherwise afternoon to forget for the Blues.

They will now be hoping to bounce back tonight when they travel to Wealdstone (7.45pm).

Elsewhere Needham Market are still in search of a first home win in Ryman League Division One North this season after being held to a 1-1 draw by Tilbury.

Tom Wraight opened the scoring for the visitors before Sam Newson equalised in the 70th minute to snatch a share of the spoils.

The Marketmen will be back in action tomorrow night when they host struggling Ilford (7.45pm).

Meanwhile, Mildenhall Town remain top of the Thurlow Nunn Premier Division courtesy of a 1-0 win over Godmanchester Rovers, while Walsham-le-Willows slipped to a disappointing 3-0 loss at home to Dereham Town.
