Needham Market manager Mark Morsley has confirmed that a deal has been reached for transfer-listed striker Adam Mills to join Maldon & Tiptree.

The move, which will reunite Mills with former Needham team-mates Sam Newson, Shaun Phillips, Rhys Henry and his brother Darren at Park Drive, should be finalised in the near future.

A product of the Needham academy, the 18-year-old, who is set to train with Maldon tonight, will make the switch having found the net on eight occasions in all competitions for the Marketmen this season.

“We’ve struck a deal with Maldon & Tiptree that suits everyone concerned,” said Morsley.

“We wanted a fee for Adam because he is an academy player that has done well for us, but his time had come to an end.

“Sometimes players just come to the end of a cycle at clubs and they need a fresh challenge, which applies to Adam.

“We’re really pleased with what he has done for us and good luck to him.”

Mills’ new club, who will play host to AFC Sudbury on Saturday, are currently 13th in the Ryman Division One North table.
