BRANDON Lasses Under-13s were the stars of the opening weekend of competitive youth football, smashing 13 goals past Colt Jags.
Georgina Dargan got the rout under way in the first minute, following a superb run and shot, before being joined on the first-half scoresheet by M Bales (hat-trick), L Zawiasa and Chloe Slater.
Bales took her tally to seven, with Field, Slater and A Skipp completing the convincing victory.
Ciona Giles was named player of the match.
Lakenheath Under-15s had two fixtures, earning themselves four points with a 2-1 win at home to Mildenhall Town which was followed by a 1-1 draw at Witchford.
They took the lead against Mildenhall when captain Ryan Day’s shot was spilled by the visiting goalkeeper and the menacing Bela Szabo tapped home from close range.
Although Liam Hammond replied for Town, Sam Hardwicke and Freddie Williams combined for the later to net the winner with a powerful shot from the edge of the penalty area.
Against Witchford, Connor Coomber put Lakenheath in charge, only for the home side to hit back with an equaliser after the break.
There were six different scorers as Lawshall Girls Under-14s trounced Stowupland Falcons Girls 8-1.
Ashleigh and Sophie Pink set the ball rolling with two strikes apiece and were joined among the goals by Emily Morter, Marie Copping, Eloise Aldous and Sophie Jeffery.
Red Lodge Under-12s began their campaign with an entertaining success over local rivals Panthers.
The visitors started brightly and took the lead after 10 minutes, but the second period would belong to Lodge.
Sam Smith, Ashley Ward and Samuel Thompson dealt with all that Panthers threw at them, setting the platform for Harry Harding and Tymcio to turn the result in the home team’s favour.
A ten-goal thriller ended in a 6-4 loss for Brandon Lasses Under-12s at the hands of Copleston SC.
A Bales hat-trick and one from Root gave the Lasses a 4-1 advantage at the break, only for Copleston to hit back with five goals without reply.
There were a dozen goals and a clean sheet for Brandon Lads Under-11s as they swept Wymondham aside.
The strikes came from man-of-the-match Callum Horne (five), Stephen Clarke (three), Alex Matthews (three) and an unfortunate Wymondham player.
Brandon Lasses Under-11s were also victorious. A Shannon Richardson hat-trick and one from Melissa Boulton handed them a 4-2 win at Waveney Foxes.
Brandon Ravens Under-9s came from 3-1 down at half-time to see off Heigham Park Rangers.
James Rutter netted for Brandon in the first half, but Rangers dominated until after the break when Rutter took his tally to four, while Peter Ford also got in on the act.
