Football; Harris claims a double for Mildenhall

MILDENHALL TOWN FC's Robbie Harris continued his rich run of form after claiming a double in his side's impressive 2-0 Pinkowski Memorial Trophy win against AFC Sudbury on Saturday.

It took 10 minutes for the Ridgeons League Premier Division side to open their account – Lewis Baillie finding Harris, who coolly lifted the ball into the net.

The hosts continued to dominate after the break and the victory was sealed when John Sands' accurate cross was headed home by Harris.

However, Hall struggled to break down a resilient Stowmarket Town outfit at Greens Meadow on Tuesday – a late Matt Robinson strike salvaging a 1-1 draw for the visitors.

Tomorrow, Mildenhall entertain neighbours Soham Town Rangers at Recreation Way (ko 3pm).

NEEDHAM MARKET FC, who are preparing for another crack at the Ridgeons League Premier Division crown this season, recorded two friendly wins this week.

On Saturday, the Reds defeated Essex-based Concord Rangers 2-1 at Bloomfields after goals from Matt Howard and Glenn Snell.

On Tuesday, Needham travelled to Ryman League Division One North side Witham Town and produced a fine display to run out 3-0 victors.

Tomorrow, Needham host Cray Wanderers of Ryman League Division One South (ko 3pm).

STOWMARKET TOWN FC aim to build on a fine 1-1 friendly draw against Mildenhall Town on Tuesday, when they travel to Hadleigh United tomorrow (ko 3pm).

Summer signing Sam Bartholomew put Stow ahead in the midweek stalemate before Matt Robinson snatched a late equaliser for the visitors.

On Saturday, Stow failed to make an impression against Woodbridge Town at Greens Meadow – eventually losing 2-0.

THETFORD TOWN FC continued their fine pre-season form on Saturday following a 3-1 victory against FA Vase finalists Lowestoft Town.

The Brecklanders travel to Crane Sports tomorrow (ko 3pm).
