Diss A secure win for first time since 2010
NORFOLK CRICKET ALLIANCE
DIVISION SIX
Diss A 174 beat
Lowestoft A 111 by 63 runs
FOR the first time since 2010, Diss A enjoyed that winning feeling as they secured a victory against Lowestoft A at Rectory Meadow.
Captain Craig Barker won the toss and elected to bat first.
Barney Chenery (63) and Gareth Killian opened the batting, and it took Lowestoft A until the fourth over to make a breakthrough, dismissing Killian.
Mark Brawn was caught for eight, before Craig Barker (38) and Chenery put on a partnership of 65.
Lowestoft finally bowled Diss out for 174.
The first few overs of bowling were expensive, but Lewis Brawn made the breakthrough in the sixth over, taking the wicket of Aldred, before Chenery removed Cooke for 17 runs in the next over.
This then led to a mini collapse by Lowestoft, led by Brawn and Chenery, both taking another wicket each.
At this point Nixon and Tirimanna looked to steady the Lowestoft batting order, but Qureshi and Musk had other ideas, taking three and two wickets respectively to finish off the game and guarantee victory.
