Bury captain Matt Edison’s shoulder injury is not as bad as first feared, with the number eight only likely to sit out tomorrow’s game against Thurrock (3pm).
Gavin Hogg’s inspirational skipper had to leave the field in pain towards the end of Saturday’s 37-16 home win over Barnes.
But Bury’s head coach was able to breathe a sigh of relief when medical results were relayed to him.
“It is not as bad as it could be,” he said, following a fourth straight win. “He slipped the socket in his AC joint of his shoulder.
“It will certainly rule Matt out for the weekend, with the trip to Guernsey next weekend in mind for a return.”
He is almost certain they will get the chance to make it five wins on the spin tomorrow, as if bottom side Thurrock’s pitch is not deemed playable, Bury have sought permission to move the game to The Haberden (see www.buryfreepress.co.uk).
With Charlie Pask and Jamie Cooke away, with the weekend originally free, Jesse Rush, Tanimo Samoa and Sam Bixby are all set to come into the side for the rearranged game.
