Bury St Edmunds Cricket Club (155) failed to haul themselves off the foot of the East Anglian Premier League table after they suffered a 45 run defeat to third from bottom Norwich (200).
Only Tyler Lortan (74) made much of an impression with the bat with the latest setback leaving Bury 26 points adrift of Horsford who sit one place above them.
However there was better news for the club on Sunday as they booked their place in the East Midlands regional T20 finals, which take place in August.
Elsewhere, Woolpit CC (226) also suffered a defeat as they slipped to a four wicket loss to Saffron Walden (230-6). Andrew Northcote finished with an impressive knock of 126 but none of the other batsmen could make much of a contribution.
Needham Market kicked off their pre-season fixture list with a 3-3 draw against a Colchester United Under-18 outfit. Goals on the day came courtesy of Regan Pelling, Bannister and Sam Newson.
