After a challenging 12 months, Bury St Edmunds’ first ever American football team are back with a new name, new logo and a new look.
Originally known as the Brewers, the team’s new name is the Bury Saints.
Head coach and team manager Chris Wallis said: “It’s been a frustrating few months, but it’s time to put that behind us and start moving forward. We are now ready to actually start playing some football.”
The Saints have a seven-game league schedule planned for the summer and will begin practice in April.
Wallis continued: “We need to recruit as many players as we can. No experience is required.
“We also need coaches, team management and volunteers willing to become team judges to help referee our games.
“We will find a role for everybody who wants to be part of the team, on and off the field of play.”
Initial plans are to start an adult team, but the Saints would like to hear from anybody of any age interested in joining the team, or any other aspect of American Football.
