MILDENHALL Fen Tigers roared back to the top of the National League following an emphatic win against arch rivals Rye House on Sunday.
It was a welcome return to form for Mark Thompson as he reeled off three heat wins in an impressive 12+2 point haul after only being beaten once by an opposing rider. David Mason was also a strong contributor and scored 11+1.

The meeting started w
ith a couple of drawn heats, before the Fen Tigers hit the front with a 5-1 heat victory courtesy of Thompson and the impressive Joe Jacobs.

From here, the Tigers did not look back as the team battled with great spirit.

Experienced riders Thompson, Mason and Barrie Evans guided home the younger riders in their respective heats.

With all the home riders either winning or being paid for a win it was certainly a confidence boosting meeting which Team Boss John Adams was satisfied with.

"I was pleased for the team and in particular for Mark Thompson and Dave Mason," said Adams.

"They showed me what I need on a weekly basis from them. But,now we must show this form away from West Row if we want to succeed in our aim of reaching the end of season play offs"

Mildenhall, sponsored by Funky Catering, now have a wait of three weeks before their next fixture against local rivals King's Lynn Barracudas on May 31.

The Tigers will be looking to avenge their cup exit to the Norfolk-based outfit earlier this season.
