Mildenhall Fen Tigers had a weekend of mixed fortunes.

On Saturday, the Barmy Army Tigers broke their run of defeats with a thrilling last-heat decider to defeat local rivals King's Lynn Stars 46-44.

However the following day Tigers lost their KO Cup second leg tie, losing to Redcar Bears 40-50.

The first action at West Row provided top class entertainment in every race, with the two sides never being more than six points apart.

After three heats, the Stars held a six-point advantage but the Tigers were ready to bounce back and by heat six the scores were level.

The Tigers finally took the lead with a 5-1 in the last heat before the interval and, from there, they never looked back.

Looking to overturn a 13-point deficit, the Tigers struggled against the odds on Sunday.

Neverthless, there was some quality action at the Mildenhall Stadium.
Team manager Laurence Rogers said, "Defeating King's Lynn felt like winning the league but we came down to earth with a bang on Sunday."
