Former Bury St Edmunds schoolboy Ed Upson has put pen to paper on a new one-year contract at Ipswich Town and is now targeting a breakthrough into Roy Keane's first team.
The 19-year-old midfielder, who scored the winner for Town in the 2005 FA Youth Cup Final, has yet to make a senior appearance for Blues after progressing through the Club’s Academy.

He was on loan at Stevenage for two months last season and admits he felt he might be moving on when his contract at Portman Road ended in the summer.

The former King Edward VI School pupil said: “It was a difficult season for me last year and I did think that I might have to move on but the new manager has come in and it’s given me a massive boost.”
