Westbury 5
BS CELTIC found themselves 2-0 down before Laine Norton reduced the deficit.
Celtic pushed for an equaliser, but Westbury hit them with a third goal. Celtic were awarded a penalty and A Butler coolly slotted home to make it 3-2.
In the second half, a pinpoint corner kick from J Fordham found A Butler, who headed past the Westbury keeper. The visitors hit back with a fourth goal and Westbury felt they had a share of the points when T Hodge scored.
However, Westbury snatched that away following a late penalty.
Bury Bowl 7, Buxhall 2
Newly-promoted Bury Bowl quickly adapted to Division Three, taking the lead through Rob Sadler.
Bowl continued to dominate and Ash MacDonald smashed home before Buxhall rallied to convert a penalty.
Bowl hit back with skipper John Nice driving home to restore his side’s two-goal lead. MacDonald steered in a spot kick to make it 4-1 before half-time.
In the second half, Buxhall cut the deficit following an own goal but Bowl stepped up a gear, with James Boughton completing his hat-trick.
Nice beat the offside trap with a superb through-ball and placed it past the keeper for 6-2 before Lee Cable drilled in the final goal.
Atec 6, Cock Inn 2
Having won the double last year, Atec were looking to get off to a good start and took the lead when Ian Chapnel netted.
A mistake by Atec let Welsh in to claim an equaliser before a corner resulted in Chapnel getting his second
Just before half-time, Atec took a long throw into the box which fell to Rob Ellis and he slotted home.
In the second half, Steve Hisset got on the scoresheet but Cock Inn cut the deficit. Atec hit back with goals from Alan Ross and Dowds.
Mildenhall Town U-16s 6,
Bar Hill Colts 1
Newly-promoted Town showed they were division and cup champions last season with a prominant display.
A Cockerill opened the scoring and Mulvihill drilled home to make it 2-0 at the break.
Mildenhall dominated the second half, C Cockerill claiming their third goal before Mulvihill’s free-kick made it 4-0. A Cockerill headed in his second before Gould made it 6-0 and Bar Hill scored a consolation goal.
Mildenhall Tigers 1,
Athletic Moreton Hall 7
Tigers took an early lead and Hall drove forward in search of an equaliser. That came through Matt Miles before the break.
An own goal gave Athletic the lead and Jack Brame made it 3-1. This was followed by a Richard Maudlin penalty, Matt Howard chipping in to make it 5-1 and two from the ever-dangerous Ben Stanford.
Shadwell 5, Thetford S&SC 0
The hosts opened the season in fine form. They were 4-0 ahead at the break following goals from John Moore (2) and Matthew Catchpole (2).
In the second half, Shadwell continued their work rate and Steven Davis sealed the win with a fifth goal.
