STRIKER Will Brown is set to return to Walsham-le-Willows FC's starting line-up for an important Ridgeons League trip to lowly Ipswich Wanderers tomorrow (ko 3pm).
The powerful front-runner, who has bagged nine goals this term for the Summer Road-based outfit, will partner Marc Wake in attack after recovering from a knock sustained in the 2-1 defeat against Wisbech Town on Saturday (match report on page 79).

A win for the Willows will make them mathematically safe from relegation and team manager Paul Smith is eager for his side to at least pick up a point from the fixture.

"So long as relegation is always a possibility, you are never completely comfortable," he said.

"The sooner we get a win, the better," he added.

Walsham suffered a disappointing 7-1 Premier Division away defeat at second-placed Needham Market on Tuesday.

After going 4-0 down and having Matt Musgrove red-carded for lashing out, skipper Trevor Newman – on his return from suspension – scored a consolation header for the visitors.

But, a Rhys Barber hat-trick and fine goals from Paul Berry, Tommy Smith, Joby Thorogood and Dan Pilcher sealed a comfortable win for the hosts.

"We created some good chances early on, but after that our defending from set-pieces was poor and we paid the price," added Smith.

To cover for injuries manager Danny Laws has introduced three new players – Mark Heath-Preston, Joby Thorogood and Dan Pilcher.

"All three have hit the ground running and this has seen us rekindle our league ambitions over the last three games," said Laws.
