IN-FORM Brian Phillips has thrown down the gauntlet in the latest two rounds of the West Suffolk Wheelers Evening Time Trials.
The Horringer-based rider won the trial in his own village, leading second-placed Paul Rooke by an impressive 50- second margin.
On Thursday, Phillips was at it again, this time winning the Higham-based event.
Rooke, who finished third at Higha
m, had been disappointed with his recent form.
But, following a week's training in Italy with the Wheelers, he seems to be flying again. His second-place finish at Horringer was over 30 seconds ahead of third-placed Ben Mickleburgh.
Meanwhile, David Giffin and Jeff Agricole continue to impress, the duo making up the top five finishers in both races.
