The Zutons, with support from Mystery Jets and Noah and the Whale, High Lodge, June 5.
THE upbeat rock/pop sound of The Zutons capped-off an excellent opening night in this summer's outdoor concerts at Thetford High Lodge.

Although the dark skies threatened rain all evening, the band's saxophone-infused music seemed to bring a feeling of summer to the cool, forested venue.

So uplifting, in fact, that thousands of people were soon on their feet and clapping along as the group began belting out their greatest hits, including Valerie (recently covered by Amy Winehouse).

The band managed to capitalise on a party atmosphere already created by their supporting acts Noah and the Whale and Mystery Jets whose equally buoyant music suited the up-coming Zutons finale.

The first kicked off the evening with a mix of rock/country songs, while the latter got more feet-stomping with their electro-pop music, including their catchy new single Two Doors Down.

The venue itself also did its bit to heighten the enjoyment of the night, with its flat grassed area allowing great views of the stage and room to settle down on a blanket, while amplifying the fine sound quality of the music.
