A happy environment and interesting teaching at Hardwick Primary School, in Bury St Edmunds, have earned praise from Ofsted inspectors.
The 192 pupils aged three-nine at the Stewart Road school were said to be well cared for and motivated after a visit last month.
Rating the overall effectiveness of the school as good, the Government inspectors said: "Pupils know their wellbeing is given the highest priority and they trust the adults around them.
"Pupils thoroughly enjoy coming to school."
Children exceed national targets in Year 2 assessments and all but a few meet and exceed their goals, earning the school another good rating for its achievements and standards.
Reading skills were noted as particularly strong, followed by writing, maths and science, but the report found a weak area for some able boys was the structure of their writing.
The personal development of pupils was rated as excellent, with students encouraged to enjoy sport, run a healthy tuck shop, raise money for charity and perform at a nearby home for senior citizens.
The report read: "Pupils are highly motivated and enthusiastic learners.
"They are thoughtful and considerate individuals who show a genuine concern for the wellbeing of others."
Teaching was graded as 'good' and the school's curriculum was rated 'excellent', as all pupils learn French, with interesting activities such as French Day and a Healthy Living Week encouraging pupils to be fit and active.
The 10 per cent of students at an early stage of learning English are supported, while regular speech therapy sessions are given to children with language difficulties.
Headteacher Peter Dewhurst said: "We are delighted with the report.
"The children are a credit to themselves, the school and their parents. We're very proud of them, too."
