A TEAM of Zumba instructors are aiming to strut up thousands of pounds for charity with a dance fitness challenge.

Eight instructors have organised Bury St Edmunds’ first ever Zumbathon at CurveMotion, in aid of St Nicholas Hospice Care, on August 23.

Bosses at the venue, off Lamdin Road, are transforming its rink into a giant fitness studio for the three-hour event as part of its involvement in the hospice’s Towergate Accumulator Challenge.

Instructor Joanna Brown said: “We do not expect people to dance for the whole three hours. In fact, regular breaks are recommended and CurveMotion has a great space for participants to relax in. You can do as much or as little as you like on the night. Just wear comfy clothes and trainers. I hope hundreds of people will join us on the evening.

“Whether you already attend Zumba classes or just fancy trying it out for the first time, this night will be a great chance to have a boogie and shimmy.”

Tickets for the Zumbathon, which is from 7-10pm, cost £10 each and are available at
