YOUNG people from church youth groups across Bury St Edmunds have taken part in social action projects on the town’s Howard Estate.
The groups from Kingsgate Christian Resource Centre and Great Barton Free Church were litter-picking on Saturday as part of a monthly ‘accelerate’ initiative, which aims to show that the church is more than just a building.
Joe Crane, a leader of the project, said: “Young people can get a lot of bad press but these guys have shown a willingness to help their community and give up their Saturday to make a positive impact and that is commendable.”
He thanked Bury based ABN for donating health and safety equipment and said more projects were planned in June and September.
