MRS Sadler (Letters, April 20) highlighted her disgust at the lack of fencing in the Abbey Gardens play area. We have a similar situation in Stowmarket.
There used to be a lovely fenced off play area on the local Recreation Ground. Then it was decided to move the playground and not to provide fencing, thus leaving it open to unruly youngsters and more so to roaming dogs (doing what dogs do).
There is also a cycle path alongside this area, meaning a child, in the excitement of playing can, quite easily, run into oncoming cyclists.
Notices do ban dogs but how many dogs do we know that can read?
Well done Mrs Sadler, here’s hoping your protests bring results.
