The unsung heroes of Breckland are being sought by the district council with the launch of its Pride in Breckland Awards 2015.

Residents are encouraged to nominate people who live or work in the district who make it a better place to live.

There are nine categories available to nominate those who have helped to improve other people’s lives, shown incredible determination in their own lives, or excelled in their chosen field.

As well as commending the bravery or selflessness of individuals, the awards also recognise the achievements of schools, businesses and community groups who have made positive contributions to the district.

The finalists in each category will be invited to attend an awards ceremony in March, and each winner will be presented with a trophy to celebrate their achievement.

Nominations can be made at www.breckland.gov.uk or by requesting a form from any of Breckland’s council offices. The closing date for nominations is January 18 2015.
