As a bit of a ‘surf dude’ and fan of heavy metal band AC/DC, nine-year-old Eddie Wolfe’s long hair is an integral part of his image.
The youngster’s last proper hair cut was about five years ago and his mum Sally asked whether he would be prepared to bid farewell to his locks for charity.
To her surprise he agreed and Eddie braved the scissors losing up to 9 inches of hair in front of his class at All Saint’s Primary School, in Lawshall.
His hair will be donated to charity The Little Princess Trust to be made into wigs for young cancer patients.
Eddie, who is a school ambassador, is also raising funds for Cancer Research UK and has so far managed nearly £300.
Sally said: “Everyone knows him for his long hair - it’s a big deal for him and he resisted having it cut for so long. He’s dead chuffed (with the amount raised).
“He says he’s going to grow it again - we will see how it goes. After it was cut he said ‘oh it’s really short’ but he got on with it and all of his friends and the teachers were so supportive.”
His hair was cut by Katherine Warner, of Ixworth’s Warner Hairdressers and Barbers.
