Schoolchildren who took part in this year’s Young Green Fingers competition run by Bury in Bloom received their prizes at an awards night. Celebrity gardener Peter Seabrooke presented prizes to the 13 schools who took part. Jean Hardy, lead judge, said: “Some of the spaces the children have created enhance and enrich learning as well as providing a calm environment.” Howard Middle School won the Silver Spoon award.
