IMPROVEMENTS on a Bury St Edmunds property have started this week following almost two years of consultations.

Every tenant of the 26 flats and maisonettes of Lambert House, Lake Avenue, had been in discussion with Havebury Housing Partnership since November 2009, which asked for their opinions for potential improvements.

Havebury chief executive Karen Mayhew said: “It was important to us to communicate with tenants through every stage of the process.”

Valued at £135,000 the improvements, which started on Monday, include security lighting, a ‘fob’ door entry system and new windows, and are set to be completed by the end of October.
