Woolpit Community Primary School is celebrating the ‘graduation’ of its first Year Six pupils next week with the staging of its first Summer Pageant.
Taking place on Thursday, July 9 at 6.30pm, the pageant will include an adaption of Shakespeare’s The Tempest by the Year Six class.
The Bury St Edmunds Concert Band will be playing a selection of new and old music, as well as accompanying the school choir.
Shaun Holland, head teacher, said: “This Year Six cohort is special to the whole school. We are proud of them and wanted to give them a send off to celebrate and share their many talents.”
Mr Holland added that staff and pupils hope to perform the concert outside, weather permitting.
Tickets cost £5 for the performance, which will be staged at Woolpit Village Hall in the event of bad weather.
Proceeds raised will go to the children’s Rainbow Ward at West Suffolk Hospital and into new music resources for the school.
