Woman in her 80’s suffers serious leg injury in fall in Thurston

A woman in her 80s has been taken to hospital with a serious leg fracture, after a fall in Thurston.

A volunteer doctor from the Suffolk Accident Rescue Service charity assisted ambulance crews from Bury St Edmunds at the incident at around 10 am this morning.

The SARS doctor treated the lady with a special painkilling drug to enable her transfer on to an ambulance.

She was then taken to West Suffolk Hospital in Bury for further treatment.
