Woman grabbed in wooded area in Thetford

Police in Thetford are investigating an attack on a woman as she walked through a wooded area on Sunday night.

The 36-year-old was grabbed as she walked along Brandon Road towards the St John’s Estate between 10.15pm and 10.20pm.

She had passed the roundabout junction with Canterbury Way when she was approached from behind by a man who grabbed her around the neck and tried to pull her backwards. The woman managed to struggle free and ran home before raising the alarm.

Police are keen to hear from anyone who may have witnessed the incident or noticed a man acting suspiciously in the area around the times stated.
